This sterling silver pendant features a beautiful red spiny oyster shell. It has beautiful bright color and is accented with silver granules around the bottom half of the stone. The bail of the pendant is stamped and will fit over beads up to 7mm in size, allowing you to wear this pendant on your Navajo pearls or beaded necklaces (beaded Necklaces shown in the photos are sold separately). All metal is solid 925 sterling silver.

In ancient South American cultures, spiny oyster shells were more valuable than gold and silver. Only Shamans or elders were allowed to wear or use them. Spiny oyster shells are tough to harvest and polish which makes spiny oysters much sought after by collectors.

Upon close inspection (with a jeweler's loupe or macro photography), a slight crack is visible in the stone. It isn't easy to see and not noticeable at all without magnification. However, I have discounted this pendant due to the crack. Regular price would have been $140.
