A Love of Jewelry, a Lifetime in the Making

My love of jewelry making began long before Sunlight Silver Jewelry opened its doors in 2009.

As a child, I was fascinated by the idea of transforming simple materials into something beautiful and unique. That early creativity stayed with me, and a few silversmithing classes in college deepened my appreciation for the art of jewelry making. What began as a favorite hobby and a way to relax gradually became something much more.

In 2009, I opened my first Etsy shop, turning a lifelong passion into a full-time business. More than 25 years of jewelry-making experience later, I still find the same joy in creating beautiful pieces by hand.

Today, Sunlight Silver Jewelry has grown to more than 75,000 Etsy sales, with a 4.9-star customer rating. I'm incredibly grateful for the customers who have supported my small business, shared their stories, and made it possible for me to spend my days doing what I love.

Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world. I'm drawn to the remarkable colors, textures, and patterns found in gemstones, pearls, shells, and other organic materials.

Sterling silver, 14K gold fill, natural gemstones, freshwater pearls, and leather are among my favorite materials to work with. Each brings its own character and beauty to a design.

My style is a blend of timeless simplicity and natural elegance. Some pieces are delicate and understated, while others celebrate the bold colors and unique characteristics of nature's treasures.

I love exploring new materials and jewelry-making techniques, and I'm always discovering something new to create. Above all, my goal is to make jewelry that feels special without being reserved for special occasions — beautiful, thoughtfully crafted pieces you'll reach for again and again.

The Little Hoops That Started It All

One of the most meaningful parts of my business is also one of the simplest: my tiny hoop earrings.

When I was in high school, I had a favorite pair of little hoops that I wore constantly. Somewhere along the way, I lost them. Years later, in 2009, I decided to recreate a similar pair for myself and began offering them in my Etsy shop.

I never imagined those simple little earrings would become some of my bestselling designs.

Over the years, I've heard from countless customers who tell me they've searched for years to find just the right small hoops. Their stories are a wonderful reminder that sometimes the simplest designs become the most treasured.

Those little earrings have become a signature part of Sunlight Silver Jewelry, and I still love making them.

Handmade with Care

Although Sunlight Silver Jewelry began as a one-person business, it has grown into a small team.

I've been fortunate to work with Lisa, Emily, and Eliza, who have helped with everything from creating our signature hoop earrings to preparing packages and caring for customers.

Most of the jewelry in my shop is handcrafted by me and my team, with careful attention to materials, construction, and the little details that make each piece special. I also occasionally offer thoughtfully selected pieces that complement my handmade collections.

Behind every order is a small business built on years of experience, creativity, and a genuine love for what we do.

When I'm not making jewelry, my favorite place to be is spending time with my husband and our three children.

I'm grateful that something I loved doing as a child has grown into a business that allows me to create, connect with people, and share my passion for beautiful jewelry.
