A beautiful carved feather in an orange spiny oyster shell. The color is vibrant and beautiful (the camera couldn't quite capture its beauty. All the photos show darker colors. It really has a beautiful orange-creamsicle color). The large bail of the pendant is stamped with a southwest design and will fit on beaded necklaces or chain. All metal is solid 925 sterling silver. Together, the feather and bail are almost 3-1/2 inches tall.

In ancient South American cultures, spiny oyster shells were more valuable than gold and silver. Only Shamans or elders were allowed to wear or use them. Spiny oyster shells are very difficult to harvest and polish which makes spiny oysters much sought after by collectors.
