This sterling silver pendant features a beautiful carved rose in an orange-red spiny oyster shell. Set in a silver bezel and surrounded by beaded and twist-wire silver accents. The large bail of the pendant is stamped with a floral design and features a blue White Water Turquoise stone. All metal is solid 925 sterling silver.

In ancient South American cultures, spiny oyster shells were more valuable than gold and silver. Only Shamans or elders were allowed to wear or use them. Spiny oyster shells are are very difficult to harvest and polish which makes spiny oysters much sought after by collectors.
